With tens of thousands of members, I can imagine a real troll post generating
such a firestorm of messages that serious problems could result. I have an
alternate suggestion. Make on the same form that you read the messages with, a
[kill this message] tag. Each time someone finds a message objectionable, they
click on a radio button. Their email address is added to the list of objectors.
When sufficient votes are tabulated [from distinct email aliases], the message
is put into temporary limbo until the moderators make a final decision. Given
enough votes, it might even be possible to override the moderators and remove it
even if they did not find it necessary.

I can just imagine some poor moderator with 40,000 messages in his in-box.
