For kids? Yes, it is, among other people. It looks like the original post mined a rich vein of humorlessness. But this is what is good about the Chessmaster series, it is good for a wide range of players. I gave my old CM5000 to a friend with a 7 year old son and a 5 year old daughter, the boy has been playing with it. I have CM6000 and find it an excellent sparring partner; I beat it just often enough to give me hope. It lacks certain auxiliary features which some chess addicts demand, but as an opponent, it has something for everyone, including kids. So buy it for your kids or buy it for yourself, and take it easy on poor "mrslug", who surely meant no harm. :-) Marc
