Subject: Crafty and EGTB Question

I have in my crafty.rc file:

tbpath=D:\Tablesbases
egtb

I runup an interesting game to the point where crafty would display:

end-game phase

After conducting a search of 15 plies, I still get:

endgame tablebase-> probes = 0 hits = 0

1. Is there a threshhold of simplication that must occur in the parent position
before the endgame tablebases will be probed?

2. Is there a way to "force" crafty to probe the endgame tablebases during the
search?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
