I understand your point very well, but why would you consider "USA guys" family
if you were in France?

Ubisoft has development houses in MANY different countries around the world. The
only thing that Ubisoft lost when they decided to switch from the USA
development team to the Romanian team was about 15 years of Chessmaster
experience.

Apparently, they felt that it was worth it to get a larger and less expensive
team. And, ultimately, it was their money and they can certainly do what they
want with it.
