Newer versions do use 4 vs. 1. But not because I think it is better - some
people wanted it. In some limited tests I had done a while back, not using 4 vs.
1 was slightly faster on average. But for example you could get a +12 score,
when with the 4-1 you'd get a mate score.

Even Eugene Nalimov seemed not convinced, that 4-1 is that good. In probe.txt he
