Yes, I cannot type infinitely fast. I indeed wanted to keep the option of running only the engine locally on Linux open, so using SSH from the interface at the remote system to the local engine. The GCC 3.4 compiler in 64 bit mode is a bit faster than the AMD64 SDK from Microsoft, but the advantage was too small to make it really worth the effort. My operator is a novice so I preferred to have only 1 interface to deal with. Besides, I think Shredder Classic is an excellent GUI, second only to ChessPartner ;-) -- GCP
