I, myself, would like a live tournament in my town in my vacation dates. But that's not interesting for most others. In the convenience equation many things must be considered: number of players, world wide coverage, safety of games (no cheaters), etc. I don't believe "I like to meet other programmers" should be part of the equation of a world champs (it is for friends party, for example). I haven't seen so far the equation formulated at all, and don't consider myself the most adequated to formulate it, but it would be nice to see the ICCA making a list of objectives and priorities and proposals to maximize the equation, so that criticism could be more civilizated and logical and productive among the computer chess community. Just my 2 cents. José C.
