I've done this several times, to Gambit-Soft in Germany. Its perfectly safe as long as you use a well-padded evelope. You can insure it too if you are nervous about it. Be sure to refuel your program so that you won't 'run down' while the upgrade is in transit to you. Naturally the upgrade is well worth having (and in permant hardcopy), form. Another benifit is that the distributer 'gets used' to your address! (Well, until you move that is:) mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
