As I've noted in other post, because I'm moving, I only got a quick look, before the computer I put it on was on the way. Visaully, all that was good about Genius5 was as good, and some things were clearly even better. Clearly the interface was already a winner, especially the 3d board. The add copy tells of a chess tree & common interface for other engines, including Winboard compatability. Along with Fritz5, this is a killer feature. I will have more to comment on after my return to NY in about a week. And I have little doubt that there will be a lot of commentary here on the ccc, and screen shots, either at ICD chess or Gambit-soft. Another of the most important things about a chess program (IMO), is stability & the features working right out of the box. In past releases, Genius has always been strong in this area. I expect that to remain so. As far as strenght and Style issues are concerned, with the great (and much debated), issues revolving around the strenth of the already strongest engines (of which Genius is a member), I consider the 'look' of the program, and the feature list therin, much more vital to its inclusion in my software collection, and Millenium Genius does get my wholehearted endorsment here! mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
