I have almost stopped developing it already, but I will release a final 1.0 version with some bug fixes later this summer. Gothmog's source code has simply grown so rotten, ugly and unmaintainable that there is little point in developing it further. Its tortured existence has already lasted far too long. The program is riddled with elusive search bugs and brain-dead design decisions from the time when I was an even more incompetent programmer than I am today. I expect the first versions of Gothmog's successors (the explanation for the plural is that I am developing two twin engines, one for normal chess and one for hexagonal chess) to be ready quite soon. It will take some time before they approach Gothmog's strength, though. Tord
