I adapted the .init file from the "Crazy Bishop" download from the CB site. On the "command line", or somewhere, I presume I can set the usual crafty parameters, including "hash=", "hashp=", "egtb", etc. And I think it would be a good idea to use a REAL crafty book.bin WITH the learn.dat. After I got it running right, I became busy with other things (Hiarcs 7!). I count crafty as one of the intelligent programs. I think it is an especially good defender. mongrel > >>Make sure these things have the same name: >>1. chessbase\engines\Crafty 16-3.eng >>2. chessbase\engines\Crafty 16-3 subfolder. >>3. chessbase\engines\Crafty 16-3\Crafty 16-3.exe >>4. chessbase\engines\Crafty 16-3\Crafty 16-3.init >> >>Present contents of the .init file (I will investigate what to put in this >>file): >> >>[Parameter] >>CommandLine = >>Engine = Crafty 16-3 >>Author = Robert Hyatt >>Debug = False >> >>[Support] >>AnalyzeMode = False >>PonderMode = False >> >>((P.S.
