Make sure you don't have a bug, for example, if you don't sort captures, and you find a capture with negative SEE, you still need to check the other captures... (it's a good idea to sort them according to SEE score). Cutting by SEE migh lose some good captures (for example, a N takes pawn, which is defended by another pawn, but discovers a bishop attack against enemy queen), but the tree reduction is so big that the overall result is clearly positive. At least for me, and I think, for most programs. If you have any doubt with implementation, you can post some code here and I'll try to help. José C.
