Hi; I'm new to this and also to the game, so please bear with me. Ques; In a book on openings I found that in the Spanish Opening White has a pawn at e4 and by the end of the fourth move it is threatend by Black's Knight at f6. White's fifth move is to Castle. Why wouldn't Black immediately take the pawn instead of 5 ...Be7? Seems like a freebie!
