My downloaded copy acted as before. We thought so ... the problem observed before was that this position: Mate in 7, best move Kc7-c8 8/krK5/p7/P7/6P1/8/7Q/8 w - - was evaluated as a "Mate in 6" by Sigma Chess 4.01 at the "Mate in 7" setting, for any value of "Transposition Table" other than "off". I just tried it again on my machine using Sigma Chess 4.02 for both 1.25 Mb and 2.5 Mb hash tables, level "Mate in 7", and it scored it as "Mate in 7", with only one key move, in both cases. If you see a problem a shorter-than-truth mate report from Sigma Chess 4.02 Lite, please email me the: - EPD - Sigma Chess 4.02 "level" used - Transposition table size used. Richard A.
