I found this documentary at my local public library, and WOW what a well done film! The movie was produced by the same people who backed Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine, so you can imagine the dark conspiracy theories woven into the movie. For his part, Kasparov comes across as a very fragile, paranoid genius. Perhaps someone who has met G.K. would be able to correct my impression. Given the money and bragging rights at stake, G.K. should have stayed away from this match, and it seems quite clear to me that the computer geeks had a half dozen GM's backstage calling the shots when things got tough. In the end, G.K.'s frustration and ego got in the way of him putting in a more consistent performance during the match. The film is a definite must-see, as G.K. gives plenty of one-on-one interview time and commentary and the director succeeds at showing chess to be exciting and dynamic.
