i wouldnt consider either Deep Junior or Hydra a "World Computer Chess Champion" because there should be a internet world computer championship meaning 'WCCC' where every registered engine should play in the chess server(chessbase or ICC) for participation,the selection or qualifying tournament is necessary(in order to eliminate more than 50 amateur engines from participating) chessmaster,CT,Hiarcs,Ruffian,List and several other strong amateur engines were missing in the WCCC 04 i agree with Hyatt's and Mathew Hull's point of view Link: http://chessprogramming.org/cccsearch/ccc.php?art_id=366022 http://chessprogramming.org/cccsearch/ccc.php?art_id=365543
