Make sure you give it a larger transposition table than the default. This can be done from the Extra / Options / Chess Engine tab Select Advanced, in here you can set the transposition table size, In your case I recommend 10 MB, then there is the thread margin which also affects the playing strength, default is 0, in tournaments I used to use the value of 3 pawns (384) Don't forget to save the settings. One more thing you can do is to turn of all kinds of statistics display options, also the analog clock can be minimized. All these options consume CPU time away from the engine. Futher blitz chess has never been a strong point of the ChessPartner engine. We used to play in the AEGON tournament (under the name LCHESS) and highest TPR rating was 2200. That was on a Pentuum 100 PC. Then ofcourse there is the option of using crafty as engine, I am still working on it, but there is a beta available from my website. Lex Loep Author of ChessPartner
