I like your question, but I would suggest that it is too 'leading'. I think a slightly better question might be, 'If you could only have 3 chess programs on your computer, what would they be, and how would you rank them'. But maybe your right? Still, I can't imagine anyone having to make such a decision. My choices for the 3 most important chess programs on my computer are; 1. Chess Base 7 2. Fritz5 3. Blitzin software for playing on the Internet. - The importance of this one interface can not be underestimated. I can take all of my pre-game Chess study from books & chess software, & test it in practice against my fellow humans right at home! (and right away).
