Statement from the Moderators Recently a number of messages discussing moderation issues were deleted by the CCC moderators. We have now revised our policy and will not delete further messages discussing moderation issues unless they otherwise violate the terms of the Charter. Note that this prohibits objecting to removal of messages, but does not prohibit discussing moderation issues in a general way. The moderators are keenly aware of their responsibilities, and do not take them lightly. We therefore took sufficient time to put together this Statement, to which we all agree. The following additional points are made: 1) The moderators were elected on a platform of tough enforcement regarding personal insults and off-topic posts. We intend to continue that policy. 2) When a post is deleted, the author is always informed, and given a reason. 3) Quoting of email, without the sender's consent, is prohibited.
