hi tony,
i,ve played there since 1999,i've been on this forum, and winboard forum
and have read the posts, there are a lot of people that change engines
all the time.
my application stated newer crafties, pharaons, anmons etc...
and was accepted by the way.
since 1999 i have'nt recieved one complaint from a regular,or
computer account user.note how many games my account has played there.

Blitz 2440 36.5 2365 722 431 3518 2486 (26-Sep-2004)
Standard 2436 50.9 84 67 45 196 2562 (09-Oct-2004)
Lightning 2564 50.9 730 176 55 961 2660 (17-

then this sunday an admin gets all over my case, judges, tries, and
convicts my account.
locked out.
no fair process involved here.
i never complained once about the abuse my account took by
point grabbers.that was what noplay is for.
and from what i,ve been hearing the admins are pretty selective about what
they enforce and who they enforce it against.
if i was trying to inflate,or deflate mine or someones ratings,(ie.cheat)
they might have a point about ratings confusion.
i always ran best of class.
a lot of computer accounts there played me with there new changed engines to
test them.3 different engines from a challenger in a day is not
emailing computers@freechess org all the time.
i read the finger notes of a lot of comp accounts there.
they are constently updating there hardware and software.
i seriously doubt that 5% have emailed for permission.
as they change so often.
i believe this is a case of selected enforcement.
all in one day,no process involved.
and one thing for sure letting an admin be judge, jury, and exicutioner
is not a very good idea.
regards
mike
