Subject: Collector's Corner...When Not To Bid On A Chess Computer..

Author: Steve B

Hi All
the following auction is a TEXT BOOK example of when to AVOID a chess computer
auction..

Firstly..the sellers feedback profile is Private..never a good sign

Second.. the photo of the computer display shows an unusual display coming from
the computer..8 0..the only thing i can think of would be a display of the ply
depth of the current move under consideration and i think it would take this
computer 8 days to reach a ply depth of 8 ply with all of the pieces still in
play(still in the opening)
a strong possibility the computer is defective

third..the price is beyond all reason and borders on the occult..
a starting bid of close to $1200 USD with a "Buy it Now" price of just over
$1900..
this seller is clearly trying to capitalize on the recent high prices that
certain rare chess computers have sold for
a normal price for a Fidelity Voice Sensory(VSC)Mint in plastic carry case(the
computer was not sold in a box),pieces and original manual is TOPS $100

there will be no bids

now i know i have said that before with the Fidelity Elite Premiere and i was
proven wrong

IF this computer garners even one bid i will begin selling my collection!
