I purchased a Designer 2100 Display (6Mhz) from a friend of mine and decided to test a couple of simple positions which ANY PC chess program should solve in a matter of seconds. In the first position the Fidelity computer couldn't find the correct after over a half hour of thinking. In the second position I let it think for 20 minutes before turning it off never finding the right move. Are all dedicated units that weak? These are taken from the "Mammouth Book of Chess."
