Hello everyone, Since no one has taken up the reigns to TD the next CCT I have decided to take my chances and see what people think. This is what I propose. Dates: February 12&13 2004 or February 20&21 2004 or March 12&13 2004 Site: The Internet Chess Club (as always) Rounds: 7 round swiss. Time controls: 45 + 10 All games to be played in one weekend. 4 games on day 1, 3 on day two. In the event of a tie break situation: Games at 30 + 5 alternating colors until someone wins. 1. No manually operated programs, and all programs must kibitz their evaluation, and book moves/TB hits if possible. Providing as much information as possible for the viewers and participants is key here. 2. In the event of a disconnection, the party will be given 5 minutes to return to complete the game. In the event of a second disconnection the party will forfeit the game. If such happens in two consecutive games the party maybe removed from the tournament. 3. Only the author or an approved operator (Author must email the TD in such case to grant approval). There will be no clones allowed. 4. Participants can use any hardware they can bring. Participants choosing to use remotely located hardware are recommended to have a suitable back up solution in the event there is an uncorrectable malfunction. 5. In the event that a participant is suspected of using a program other than the one entered in the tournament, this is to be brought to the TD's attention immediately and _privately_. Actions will be taken to ensure the validity of the claim. 5a. NO PUBLIC ACCUSATIONS WILL BE TOLERATED. Accusations are not proof, and there is no reason to possibly ruin someone's reputation if you are wrong. 6. No entries will be accepted 1 week prior to the start date of the tournament. This is to ensure that advertising, websites, and any promotional tools are accurate at start time. 6a. In the event that there is a late withdrawl, the TD can substitute a program in place of the departing entrant to keep the numbered entries the same. If everyone is agreeable to this, or has any recommendations please post here or email me. We are running short of time to get something planned for February/March. In a previous post these were the two most common times that most people could attend. If you _do not_ want me to be the TD for the event, please speak now and we can find someone to take the helm. Peter
