I wasn't trying to draw you into a reply, I simply think your swapware idea is a good one and I wanted to give due credit to the originator. I hope you release a "Glaurung Light". I'd like to see a family of simple starter engines that a beginner could use depending on the board representation they like, Simon for bitboards, Glaurung Light for 0x88 (if that's what you use) and so on. The other thing I'd like to see is they all be public domain to avoid situations like Waster, halls-of-shame etc. Best Dan H.
