Hi Uri, >> For most books about middlegames I am simply too stupid -> They explain >> games and gave lines why this and that is not as good... I usually can not >> create rules out of that. E.g. I did not understand the idea of good and >> bad bishop (except a totally blocked one) for a long time. > Movei also does not have a special knowledge about bad bishops and I think > that this knowledge is usually included in mobility of the boshop and bishop > with bad mobility is a bad bishop. sure, but you can do more then that. E.g. Quark counts it's own pawns which occupy fields of the bishops colour. If you have to many of them that is no good for the bishop... as far as I understood Carlos explanation -> or that was what I was extracting from them... In the endgame it differs a bit, the pawns also should not be on the opponents bishops fields... anyway, it's a playable evaluation term. And it does not cost much, the data can be collected on the fly. Besides, in my eyes you are a very good player -> I rate myself usually around 1000 if someone asks me -> You understand the differences ? Simple knowledge that is for you a candidate to be implemented does not get in my mind because I simply do not know anything about it. Greets, Thomas
