Can you just use a ZIP-file for the source please? Approximately, like this: 1. rename source.tar.tar to source.tar.bz2 2. bzip2 -d source.tar.gz 3. tar -xif source.tar HTH P.S. If you don't have bzip2, there are several archive managers that can handle that format like 7-zip and powerarchiver.
