I have entered the Mephisto Risc in several tournaments over here with
mixed results. In one tournament it played a strong "master" (Australian
rating 2393 That,I'm advised by Peter Parr (a leading figure in chess over
here)would translate into 2500 odd U.S.It won a very exciting end game against
Dimitri Gedevani. It lost ,however,to John Bolens 1990 and drew with a player
who had a 1670 rating. In the tournament it finished on 5/7.That was several
years ago.
Peter,	who runs a local chess shop, says the machine handles certain positions
really well but struggles in closed games. He said though, that it played at
around 2160 Australian.
As for my Rebel 9 I run it on a Pentium MMX 166 with 64mg RAM.
