Interesting. After my rewrite, they dont seem to work much for me either. And you have _lots_ more eval than what my thing does at the moment. :) They definately seemed to help before with the old engine in most positions, and when I would run matches with asp on/off, the asp on version would perform better. But I now know there were lots of problems with the old thing, so who knows. For now, I am happy with just plain PVS, for simplicity reasons. I suspect it might have a better worse case performance too, though this is pure speculation of mine.
