Hi again, I agree with a lot of suggestions. I sum up adding my opinions: a) the protocol should be in English, localisation is the job of a GUI b) the protocol should be based on UTF-8 c) option names should not include spaces, instead used '_' could be shown as spaces by the GUI, but they should be simply ONE word d) the pondering should only be done by giving the engine the chance to calculate - there is no need to communicate whether the awaited move has been taken or not - the engine would know it receiving the answer Reinhard.
