Mindscape has just put up a new patch for Chessmaster 6000, version 1.0.3. You can find it at chessmaster.com. The readme states the following for the new version: ===================================================================== *** What's New for v1.0.3? *** 1. Corrects the apparent "second patch" when attempting to play Chessmaster Live on MPlayer. 2. Fixes a problem where, on some machines, the CD Residency code asked for a Chessmaster CD the majority of the time. Also, further relaxed the requirements to a period of anywhere EITHER between 10 and 28 days OR between 15 and 30 sessions. NOTE: A CD will always be required when a new player logs in for the first time. 3. Fixes a problem where, on some machines, previous versions of the patch would report that one or more tutorials were not patched. This error would most likely be described as "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match" in the PATCH.ERR file. This version of the patch ensures that all tutorial files are up to date. 4. Added a dialog asking confirmation before deleting a player. Enjoy! jm
