It would help.

some examples:
1)I saw in comp-comp games cases when programs traded pieces to a lost pawn
endgame because they do not calculate enough the position after trading.
under 2000 player can use a program and if he thinks that the move of the
program leads to a lost pawn endgame then the under 2000 player may give the
program to analyze the position after trading and play the move of the program
only if the program does not see that it is losing the pawn endgame.

2)I saw cases when program lost because they were too greedy(see the Bxc3 move
that only chessmaster6000 and crafty16.4 found not to take the sacrifice.

The human who play with the program against kasparov may be careful not to
accept similiar sacrifices.

3)There are fortress positions in the endgame that even under 2000 players will
recognize but computer will not recognize(these positions are rare in practical
games but can happen)

4)The program does not think that maybe the opponent will go wrong.
If the human see evaluation of -5 in the screen of the program and the program
suggests to give a rook for nothing then it is better to try to do another move
in the hope that kasparov will not find a winning combination.

I believe that these advantages are not enough for under 2000 human to beat
kasparov but it is not only the program against kasparov
