I think you are talking about futility+delta pruning, but the post was about
history pruning.

Just to avoid a terrible mistake, the change was in option.cpp right?

I don't want to discourage you with your tests, but for serious conclusion about
small features like futility and delta pruning, I expect about 1000 games to be
necessary for each version, because I don't believe they can bring more than 20
Elo.
