This project will probably never run an objective test over a few hundreds of positions measuring the speedup they've got when starting with cleaned hashtables. The results could be dissappointing to some. For me all what matters is how much faster it is than 1 pc. If 1024 pc's give the speed of 10 pc's, then that's good, as it's hard to buy a 10 processor machine. They can claim anything of course when not doing that test. 1 position proves nothing. How strong the program is that runs inside is less interesting if you ask me. I'm basically more interested in the algorithmic speedup they can get. Right now i guess that's about 1.0 >On June 30, 2005 at 13:59:37, Colin Frayn wrote: > >>Hi folks, >> >>Sorry I've not been around a for a while, and I'm even more sorry that Beowulf >>hasn't seen any considerable development in that time.
