Clearly, Jorge chose the wrong horse to bet on. :-) >German: aber sei sicher Tord, dass ich jetzt auch deine neuste Kreation besiegen >würde I have no doubt. After all, Glaurung is far behind the top engines. By the way, it is always nice to see that there are still people who actually play against chess programs, and don't only use them for analysis and comp vs comp games. >- doch die Wette ist so nun mal abgeschlossen für mich, und Jorge schuldet >mir demnach nun 50 Dollar! I suppose "Gautlung" above means "Glaurung"? Yes, of course Shredder should win easily against Glaurung in Mainz if they happen to meet each other. Shredder is probably about 200 Elo points stronger even on equal hardware, and in Mainz Shredder is likely to run on hardware at least four times faster than Glaurung. The difference in playing strength will be somewhere between 300 and 400 points. I go to Mainz to meet the other programmers, not to win the tournament. Glaurung will need a lot of luck just to finish with a 50% score. >Möchte jemand dagegen wetten? I really don't think so. :-) Tord
