Perhaps the optimally played game is a 275 move grinding computer draw with not a single exciting move in it. In fact, it might actually be the solution to chess, though unverified, as each move is truly the best possible to make at that point. And yet I will find it uninspiring. So I do not think that your question has an answer. Or, if it does have an answer, the answer will be different for me than it is for someone else. IMO-YMMV
