If they "seem" to be identical, they really are identical.

The only difference could be found in the 960 starting positions. But Especially
when castling rights have been exhausted you will notice no difference. Same is
true for positions having only castling rights related to traditional K+R
placements. Traditional chess covers a special subset of Chess960 positions and
not only the SP-518.

Of course, but there is a need to have traditional FEN for common positions.
