>I don't come to disagree but what will you say if we see an 100 elo jump from >most top programs? Hello Dimitris, Of course you do come to disagree but isn't that the fun of debate? :-) Should Movei jump 100 Elo then I would congratulate the programmer, Uri Blass. > >>I agree with Uri that the genius is in writing Fruit in the first place. >>Tweaking and improving seems a lesser task to *me*. > >The same question as above. To me, it is like putting in a different type of petrol or compressing deleting files so that the computer runs faster. Of course it is a good thing but the genius is in designing the computer in the first place. Building on a superstructure is always going to be easier that building the structure in the first place. Give me an engine with original ideas that peaks at 1000 Elo and I wil take that over a modified version of FritShredNimzo that plays at 3000 Elo. I love engines as diverse as Roce to WB Nimzo, Crafty to Ghost, Shredder to the Baron, Horizon to Gaviota, Kiwi to Rebel/Pro Deo, Deep Sjeng to Yace (soon to be replaced, sob!!). All original, all fun. So I guess I hopped off the Elo train some time ago. I will take originality over a number any day. Where is Roce? I am going to administer some punishment... Of course, others may see it differently.... :-) >Of course. :-) > >Dimitris Of course. :-) Later.
