I am currently playing various engine-engine matches on CB to test them out. However, when I use Shredder 9 for blitz it plays very slowly and I am losing games on time. It runs at about 180KN/s whereas Fritz, Fruit, Toga II etc run at about 500KN/s. I don't have fast hardware (Intel Celeron 2.0GHz with 512Mb RAM)so I know this affects engine performance but I was wondering whether either of these would help: a) Should I set different hash table size from 64Mb which I usually use for 5 minute blitz ? b) would tweaking any of the engine parameter settings away from their defaults speed the move rate up eg."Time Useage" or "Knowledge/Speed" I would be very grateful for any advice as I have purchased S9 and at the moment am finding it disappointing compared to other engines. Many thanks Mark
