Do I always hear mass market? :)
The mass market is saturated.
In my chess club (90 members) practically everyone has a version of Chessbase or
Fritz. You can get a version of Fritz for 10-15 Euro in town.
No need to use another GUI.
Nobody would go through the trouble to learn the handling of a new GUI,
convert databases,etc... just because there is a "Worldchampion" on the box.
Worldchampions are dime a dozen today anyway.
Besides, you need a large distribution system to hit the mass market.
