Sorry Uri I misunderstood - the position was winning for Deeper Blue. In any case to lose one game does not prove much - even Karpov loses a game once in a while. Did he play a complete match? I have to agree with Mr Hyatt re. Karpov. In fact I prefer studying Karpov's games to Kasparov, because IMHO it's "real chess", whereas Kasparov prefers to win the game from the opening - of course I admit Kasparov also has phenomenal technique, you can't be world champion without and not be strong in every part of the game.
