I'd like to see another rematch, what chessplayer wouldn't? And I feel that Kasparov "should" have won the second match, would win the third. But who really thinks that IBM will permit this? They have their big public relations coup; their computer beat the reigning World Champion. As far as the general public is concerned, that is all there is to be said. Serious chess players can talk until they are deep blue in the face about how Kasparov self-destructed, or how a short match doesn't prove anything, but it's hard to get the casual player or the non-player to understand. IBM has little to gain from a third match. If they win again, at best they just convince the small percentage of people who understand the game. If they lose, they lose a lot of face.
