I ran a quick 9 minute test on this position using GNU Chess 5.0BETA on an unloaded SUN Ultra-5 giving about 33,000 nodes per second. It's pretty clear from the output below that nothing spectacular is happening, just some captures. The root non-quiescent static evaluation of the position doesn't differ greatly from the search result value returned a fter a 10-ply search.
