I had the same problem. I found one (clunky) way to solve be by altering the value of CurrentBase in the Ctart startup file. The value can be set at 1, 2, or 3. By setting the value (1=tactical; 2=combo motifs; 3=grades by diff.) before starting the program you use whichever "course" you want. Chess Assistant people said this is a known problem. They provided these workarounds: 1) Run the program in safe mode 2) Use small font since the problem occurs when large fonts are used.
