I've been programming 33 years and I have never heard of one. SEE stands for Static Exchange Evaluator. It is used to estimate the possible material gains that could be acheived by a capture. Ideally the moves that gains the most material should be played first to maximise the efficiency of the alpha Beta algorithm ie maximise the number of cutoffs.
