Subject: Collector's Corner..A Call To Arms!

As i was shocked about the result of the 5 game match between the Res-Fruit05
and the Res-Ruffian, so too will Collectors Worldwide be surprised by this
result

now i realize of course that 5 games is nothing to take very seriously ,but
still,i expected a score of 5-0 or at worst 3.5-1.5 in favor of Res-Fruit 05

i am calling for all Resurrection owners to attempt to play each other in
matches to determine the true strength of ALL of the engines in the Resurrection
modules

perhaps Res-Toga I is stronger then Res-Deep Sjeng?
or ..Res-Ruffian is not as good as this small match indicated

there are 23 owners of the Resurrection in addition to myself
several of which received their modules sets in return for testing
and it was a brilliant job of testing and re-testing that these particular
owners did

i have played now over 30 match games with the Resurrection against a wide
variety of dedicated computers
not one time did i encounter a problem with the operation of the modules
no time management issues,no pawn promotion issues..nothing

however since the Res has not had a new release for some time and the inventor
of the modules will not be incorporating the new Tasc display module for quite
some time..i think these testers should now focus on playing matches against
each other
they live in close proximity to each other in the Netherlands

the boyz over at .info do a great job of testing the dedicated computers but
they test only against the old computers they have not Res modules
they need our help

the Res-Ruffian in obtaining its 2383 Elo Rating and its 2400 Action rating
played against an assortment of dedicated units at their disposal but no games
were played against other Res-Engines

this is not a good state of affairs

this is like always dusting off Boris Spassky out of retirement to play a new
rising chess star to give him Elo points

it makes little sense to release the Resurrection with so many engines if no
real attempt is made to determine which one is the strongest

all Resurrection owners should try to play each other(either via the internet)
or face to face (for those that live near each other)
and send in their results to www.schachcomputer.info for tabulation and
incorporation into the lists

i write this message here because i know many collectors read these pages
