There are no G5's in the Xbox 360. Neither are there altivec units.
The Xbox CPU is a new derivate based on other PowerPC processors (like the
POWER4 , PPC970), but with a restricted instruction set and special vector
units, similar like the SPU of the IBM Cell processor.
