What evidence, if I may ask? AFAIK, pracically all evidence suggests that there
is indeed a very strong correlation between performance in blitz play and
performance in slow play, with very few and fairly insignificant exceptions.

Just check the CEGT blitz list and compare it to the "slow" list!

I have no beef with the rest of your post.
