Maybe i would rephrase " it would be nice if they could eke out a living creating these wonderful programs." concerning the notion of "unimportant activities"...... How many of us create something unique that gives a lot of joy to 1000 or more people? Is that unimportant. Does chess code ever influence main stream programing, thus making an important contribution? regrettably, "importance" rarely has anything to do with income level. You have a doctor who gives rich women fake breasts and a nurse who takes good care of a senile grandfather. Who makes more? Why do teachers make less than advertisers, prosecuting lawyers make less than tobaco lawyers, et etc.? best Joseph
