Chessmaster 9000 is "The King" by Johan de Konig. I am not sure what Chessmaster 2000 is (my guess is that it is an early Dave Kittinger program), but it is definitely not a version of The King. Besides, the hardware is certainly a significant factor here. It is no exaggeration to say that the Athlon 1200 MHz is faster than the 68000 8 MHz. Tord
