I just played Rebel 9 at "1300" on my PII-300 (dual, but Rebel's only using one of them). 10 games of 5 minute blitz, I got 2 points. But I _did_ see it occasionally (i.e. in several games) play weak moves... an example would be that there was a fork of my queen and a rook but it didn't play it, instead it just made some pawn push. That sort of thing. In some games I had what I thought was a crushing attack, for sure it would have killed any _real_ 1300. But Rebel pulled a swindle out of the bag. :! The funniest thing that happened was during one of the blitz games, Windows 98 took control to inform me that it had just adjusted for daylight savings time, and could I please check to make sure the time was now correct! So I hit okay, also okay on the date/time calendar, and went back to Rebel, and of course its clock was all screwed up. :-) I guess you can't program for everything. <grin> Dave Gomboc
